Article Sumission Guidelines and Notes

The NWC presents helpful information to all visitors. It does this by covering a wide range of information while using a loosely ordered structure in article grouping and writing style. All veterans are encouraged to submit material for publication. Swabbies with good ideas are welcome, too. However, there are some suggested guidelines to assist in keeping the material substantive, rather that "fluffy". While these guidelines do require a few things, note that they are not meant to completely eliminate personal style or creativity.

When submitting your article, include a title and author. (Not all articles are submitted by the actual author.) All articles are checked for spelling errors, and some for grammar errors. A few are written in a manner that makes reasonable use of inconsistencies. The editors will determine if they fit in with the NWC as a whole.

  • It’s okay to submit articles on topics that have been previously published. If a superior article is submitted, it may replace a previous publication. It may also be published as a count point.

  • Pictures are great! The more the better. If editing requires that some be omitted, that is preferable to there not being enough for a clear explanation of the topic.

  • There is no limit to an article’s length. If the material calls for a lengthy discussion, that is fine.

  • If the topic is on construction or tactics, present the ideas in a logical sequence.

  • Keep fictional dialogue to a bare minimum. Most topics can be treated fine without it.

The editors reserve the right to refuse publication, to "edit" content, or to rework material in such a manner as to clarify its presentation. If drastic rework is required, it will be sent back to the author for review before it is published.
