[ USS California BB-44 ]

Project California - BB44

USS California, BB44, was one of the "slow battleships," built early in the 20th century. The "OBB" ships of the US Fleet are generally considered too slow for Big Gun combat. This page is meant to document the construction of one of California's Big Gun versions. It will cover as many aspects of the drafting, building, builder's trials and certification as are reasonable. Look here for work on plans, system design, and fitting out.

Where applicable, images and drawings of various systems, in concept or production, may be available in their respective sections. Any work published here is open to public consumption, usage and modification. Cannon concepts and designs will be included. RCWARSHIPS.COM assumes no liability for the use or misuse of any information published here.
